For almost a decade, Girish Bachani has served as a member of the Children’s Medical Center Foundation Board.
As part of this service, he’s heard firsthand from physicians and clinical team members at Children’s Health℠ about the critical need to expand access to mental health care for kids.
And now, he’s leading the way for Capital One — where he serves as SVP and Divisional Chief Financial Officer — to support our efforts to strengthen and expand mental health services in the Emergency Department at Children’s Medical Center Plano, allowing clinical team members to respond to patients’ needs more effectively.
For the last two years, Capital One has provided critical funding to expand mental health services at our Plano campus through generous gifts.
About 750,000 out of the more than 2 million children and teens across North Texas have a mental health need — a drastic increase over the last few years. Children’s Health is addressing this on several fronts, including critical pediatric mental health support in our Emergency Rooms.
The mental health assessment teams in our Dallas and Plano ERs protect and advocate for each patient’s social and mental health needs through top-notch multidisciplinary care and by providing and facilitating resources, as necessary. The psychiatry team also provides consultations within our ERs to help address this pervasive issue.
“I’m an avid supporter and admirer of Children’s Health and the impact it has serving children and families in need and attracting top-tier medical talent to the North Texas area,” Girish said. “We are honored to support the hospital system’s efforts in North Texas through volunteerism and financial contributions to critical initiatives like mental health services.”
Investments in the Children’s Health Mental Health Fund affords Children’s Health the opportunity to advance current and innovative approaches for tackling pediatric mental health care needs, as well as invest in long-term solutions.
Girish and his employees at Capital One believe that the health and wellbeing of North Texas children are vital for growing communities such as in Collin County, and he understands the important role Children’s Health plays in meeting the unique needs of North Texas kids for generations to come.
“Children's Health is dedicated to making a difference in our North Texas community, and that is reflected in their many advocacy efforts,” Girish said.
