There’s no doubt about it — community support helped to create an incredible year in 2022.

This is an exciting time at Children’s Health℠. Since the beginning in 1913, our history has been defined by continual growth to meet the evolving needs of our community and to be on the cutting edge of pediatric care. As a current example, the Covid pandemic pushed pediatric mental health to a crisis point, especially getting access to care as early as possible. Thanks to the power of philanthropy, we’re addressing this head-on. In this annual report, you’ll meet Drs. Browne and Best, who are at the helm of a groundbreaking initiative funded by donors to train North Texas pediatricians, so they can identify and treat mild-to-moderate mental health issues before those issues escalate. The result is a game-changer.

As we look to the future, all of us know the population in our community is increasing exponentially – North Texas is one of the fastest growing areas in the country – and we must add capacity to meet the needs of more and more kids. Right now, at Children’s Medical Center Plano, you’ll see the cranes and dirt moving as a new eight-story tower rises from the ground to treat more kids closer to home.
